Education Seminar with Ms. Shulz & Ms. Kiehle

Recently, i'm just feel really busy and have no enough desire to chit-chat with on internet.

hahaa i got lazy..but the red devil in my head has ordering me to write this report.

On september 16th, i was attending the education seminar conducted by FPMIPA UPI, headed by two speakers, Barbara Schulz and Caroline Kiehle from United States.

Unfortunately i missed to take some picture of them :( hiks.

My motives attending this seminar are want to know how the education run in US; is it possible to apply their some good methods (in educating the student) in Indonesia?; Do student in US got stress when faced the exam?; are they enjoying fun learning?

Caroline share to us that in US, the education system (i mean curriculum) change about 15 years, not too rapid and there is no national standard curriculum. so, every school have their own curriculum. Its depend on their desire whether want to study biology first, then math, physics, and chemistry; or prefer to studying physics earlier than studying biology, its their decision.

Here is the main goal of US's education (that just revealed for about 3 months ago, and not all american people already know about this):

"One high priority goal for the nation is to increase the number of student graduating from universities. Majoring in Science, technology and engineering"

so that, they will have these ability:
- To have sufficient knowledge of science and engineering to engage in public discussion on science related issue scientific and logical
- Be careful consumer of information
- And have the skilkls to enter the careers of their choice

Beat bitter-melon

My new favorite food~~ Bitter melon.

I spend Rp 5000.00 for my breakfast today. The menu contain with steamed rice (you always need rice even in your diet because rice is the most friendly fiber for your intestines ), fried egss (tetep yaaah,, rich of protein), eggplant balado (anti-oxidant from eggplant protect you from brain cancer caused by the radiation of electronical instrument, such as your PC; and vit C from red chili give you best body defense), stir-fried Bitter melon (can protect you from cancer, and make your eyes healthy, also could decrease the concentration of glucose in your blood), sweet fried tempe (you already know the advantage of consuming soybean, rich of vit E, protein, etc), and chili sauce (vit C again :)).

Plus a banana to get calcium and potassium ^^. i can't buy milk, because nowadays the price of milk so expensive (hahay lebay).

Health but cheap! its because "warteg Harjay" (little home resto with super cheap cost, but delicious). slurrp!

Harmful small Lizard saliva

Yesterday i heard from Ust. Maulana (jamaah ooo jamaah ^^) that the saliva of small lizard (Indonesian called it Cicak) can give us sore skin, some kind of itch and irritation. So we have to make sure our food nicely closed when we keep it.

Should we go with why? why the saliva of small Lizard harmful for us?

and then.. i couldnt find any related articles. Mostly Indonesian people talk about the badluck when the small lizard fall down from the ceiling to them. omo omo its like habits,, prefer mystical explanation rather than scientifical thinking.

maybe the nearest related topic is that the saliva of tokek or gecko can cure the HIV virus. but it is still being doubted.

Kimchi is similar to the Sauerkraut of Germany, the Paocai of China, the Tsukemono of Japan, the achar of Indonesia, and the pickles for other regions.

Actually kimchi categorized by season and by regions in Korea.

Categorized by seasson, there are:

1. Fresh kimchi in spring

2. Yeolmu kimchi in summer

3. Baechu kimchi in autumn

4. Gimjang kimchi in winter

Categorized by season, there are:

1. Hamgyeong-do (north-east)

2. Hwanghae-do (Midwest)

3. Gyeonggi-do

4. Chungcheong-do

5. Gangwon-do

6. Jeolla-do

7. Gyeongsang-do

The next day we will try to make Kimchi Jiggae, with no pork ofcourse!

Easy meal with simple Eggs

I'm a big fan of eggs, any type of eggs. srambled, sunny side up, hard boiled, soft boiled, with rice, with noodles. Easy meal with simple eggs can fill me up for hours. :)

never bored with eggs!

Even in my rent-house i always want to have my-fried-eggs in my dishes. So usually i try to make my-fried-eggs using a rice cooker :P

here it is,,

if you want to have some good smell on your fried eggs, then you can put spring onion on your eggs, put chili also if you want to get spicy taste (i also put some spinach to rise the number of nutrient).

Slice your chili and spring onion, add to your eggs, mix it, don't forget to throw some salt and sugar to your eggs, then mix it again!

be ready with your pan (i mean the pan in your rice cooker :P), first you throw some margarine/coconut oil in your pan, then close the pan, next step you press the cook button on your pan.

wait until about 2 minutes, then open the pan, put the egg into , and close the pan until 2 minutes,

after 2 minutes, one side of your eggs going brown and smell delicious. Let the other side going brown also, by turn the position of your eggs to the reverse.

close the pan and wait abaout 1 minute.

After that, your fried eggs ready to be served :P
